Weeb Shelf Update!

Weeb Shelf Update!

Hello all, it’s been a couple weeks. I was dealing with a bout of covid that sucked all motivation away from me for a bit, but now I’m back and ready to get back into the groove! Today I have a small update on the shelf that holds all of my anime, manga, and figures. I’ve been wracking my brain for a bit trying to figure out a way to better display most of the items on it. I finally had the idea to try out some kitchen-based cabinet organizers while I was browsing amazon the other night.

Let’s start with what the adjustable shelves look like.

They’re made of metal which is a plus since that means they won’t sag over time and are quite sturdy for how inexpensive they are. They adjust from 16.5 inches up to 27 inches so they’ve got a pretty decent range of adjustment. They’re also vertically adjustable from around 5.5 inches up to around 8.5 inches so I can easily fit my Blu-rays or manga underneath them. Now onto what things looked like before.
While this looked alright, I wasn’t completely pleased with the way it looked, plus everything was kind of split between separate shelves. I wanted to consolidate all of the Blurays and DVDs to one shelf to free up a bit more space for future purchases.
This is what it looks like after using one of the adjustable shelves. I moved everything down to the second shelf and in my opinion, it looks much cleaner and more organized. I opted for fewer figures around all of the anime and I really feel that it displays better. After I was done with this shelf I turned my attention back to the top shelf and reorganized all of the figures on there.
I can now display a painting my Sister did for me in the back, this shelf now houses most of my favorite characters. I also think this displays much better as well. Eventually, I would like to get a few of the Detolf display cases from Ikea, but that will be in the future when I have the room to actually set them up.
Another item I decided to pick up is these inexpensive wall shelves where I can display some more of my figures as well as fill in my walls a bit. I’m not a fan of putting holes in walls so I utilized some Command picture hanging strips. They can hold a decent amount of weight so I’m not all that worried about them losing grip over time and I’ve used them a ton over the years to hang stuff.
I still have to figure out what to do with all of my manga, there’s just too much to display on a single shelf so I’m gonna have to get creative in the future. Some of it is kind of just sitting on one of the other shelves while I figure it out. I’m gonna have to cut back on buying any more until I find another solution.

Overall I’m pretty pleased with how the shelf turned out with the new organizer as well as the floating shelves for the figures. I’m also currently still getting my desk set up and may make a post in the future about that. If anyone is interested in using either of these solutions I’ll have some affiliate links at the bottom of the article that give me a little kickback through Amazon. For now, though, I’ll have to continue thinking about other creative ways to organize and display my collection. Have any ideas for me? Feel free to drop them in the comment section down below!

Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
